Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 does not have a single-player mode; all of its game modes are multiplayer. There are three gameplay versions of Black Ops 4, which include Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout modes.

Multiplayer

The multiplayer gameplay mode of Black Ops 4 features the revival of the Specialists, which are unique soldier characters that possess special abilities. In this gameplay version, time-limited events are also included which are called ‘Callings’. Custom load-outs allow players to select different equipment, weapons, and can also opt for upgradable weapons along with making perk selection possible in each match. Rush is new gameplay that has been introduced into Zombies where the players can build up multipliers and points which helps when they are competing against other players for the run to highest points before the character dies.

Blackout

Blackout is the battle royal gameplay mode of Black Ops 4. It combines the traditional combat style from Black Ops and the largest map that was featured on the Call of Duty title. In this gameplay, players go up against each other through locations that have previously been introduced in the Black Ops games. It also includes air, land, and sea vehicles that can be used by the players. Artificial Intelligence controlled zombie enemies also spawn at Zombies-themed locations, such as Lighthouse or Asylum, and when the Zombies are killed, they drop the loot items which include the Cymbal Monkey or Ray Gun. Different vehicles, such as the all-terrain vehicles and helicopters, are also featured in this gameplay which accommodates up to 100 players at a time.
